This is my favourite season and month of the year. I just
love December. December makes me just love it. Last year, the first day of this
month I joined work and yes I am happy to have completed one year in my first
job. J
At the end of every year, we may say that this year went by
too fast but a year is actually quite long and especially when you are working
your every working day is pretty looooooooong. Now imagine, you have a long
working day so would you want to spend this day doing something you don’t like
or doing something that you really like?
I am a Chartered Accountant, and working as an HR
Consultant. The reason for this is because I wanted to be happy, and I could
only be happy if I did something that I like or at least did not do things that
I dint like and this is how I landed up here ( trust me, I have no regrets).
I know we live in a society where we need to create a name
for ourselves, have peer pressure, pressure of earning enough to live a
comfortable life, etc. ; but at what cost does one wants to achieve all this ?
At the cost of your own happiness? Are we all not living to be happy? I agree
sometimes circumstances are such that we are forced to do things to make ends
meet but should we continue to do those things for eternity?
There is lot of risk involved in taking up and doing your
own things, but to take a calculated risk towards it is a win-win thing. May be
currently you are not doing what you like, you are in a situation where you
cannot leave at the moment, but, you can start planning (the least of it) to
take up something in future (if not now) that would keep you happy. One can
start with the little things like taking up your hobbies since hobbies keep you
happy because in that time frame you are doing things that truly make you
happy. But the key thing is to do that very thing where your happiness lies (be it anything).
I truly believe that if you are happy, then only you can
keep others happy and to be happy you need to start doing things that will keep
you happy. I had attended a great internal workshop that spoke about what keeps
the particular individual happy and I think it was a great success for people
to have learnt about themselves and work accordingly towards what really keeps
you going.
P.S. This blog is not meant for people to resign but just for
them to think, think deeper- Are they truly happy in what they are doing? J

very enlightening post.. true dat we can only be happy in what we do when we love it.. its not something that we have to do for just a short period of time and something that we can get through even if we detest.. if we have to do something for a long period, better that it is something we have a love towards or passion towards.. good post as usual :)
